The Role and Benefits of Incentives in Attracting FDI in CR

This master´s thesis „The role and benefits of Incentives in attracting FDI in CR“ is focused on the sphere of investment incentives used as an instrument of Czech goverment policy by decision making of foreign investors to enter and start busines in the Czech Republic. This thesis gives a picture on the specific factors, which play the greatest influence on decision if foreign companies will finally invest in CR. There are four studies by evaluating company´s business plan to show influence of investment grants on start-up costs of investment comparison to obtained incentives funds and the impact on the employment in certain regions force on goverment employment policy.

The first part of the thesis summarizes the relevant theory and describes offered entrepreneurship support programs in the Czech Republic. The second part is aimed at introduction of FEI Czech republic Ltd. For this company is in the third part of the work, chosen the suitable entrepreneurship support program, made a business plan and filled in an application for support.

This master´s thesis “The Localization of Foreign Direct Investment in the region of Middle Europe“ is focused on localization of foreign direct investment in the region of Middle Europe and possiblities of making easier localization decision. The first part of the thesis summarizes teoretical knowledge of foreign direct investment, their difinitions, typology and effects on economy. The second part is focused on the analysis of localization factors of strategic services sector. On the analysis basis, in the final part is created the model, which can be used for easier localization decision making between economies of Middle Europe. Afterwards the localization of a foreign direct investment is projected and analysed.

LEGAL AND FINANCIAL ASPECTS OF THE PROVISION OF STATE AIDS Abstract The subject of the work is to explain the general structure of legal norms applicable to materia state aids, starting with public international law, European law and the subsequent transition to domestic legislation and its comparison with neighbouring jurisdictions of the Slovak Republic and Poland. The first part of the doctoral thesis is to learn about the issues, related to the topic of work, with patterns of thought and reflection as well as the tasks that were set at the beginning of the work and arise from the chosen procedure. This should contribute to a better understanding of the work. The following section defines the concept of state aid as well as basic resources and postulates, related to the principal concept of work. First of all, I focused on international agreements, which first used this concept, and their consequent reflection in the development and shaping of European law, including the area of European Community law and the law of the European Union, which now represents some of the unified systems. Analysis of the impact of selected car manufacturers on Slovak economy between years 2003 and 2016

The object of this bachelor thesis is to carry out an analysis of the automotive industry in Slovak economy and to analyse direct and indirect effects that the arrival of Kia Motors Slovakia and PSA Slovakia had on Slovak economy between 2003 and 2016. Contribution of the thesis is a comprehensive and updated view of the automotive industry position in Slovak economy and of the situation of the selected car manufacturers. Theoretical part describes historical development of industry in Slovakia and preconditions of the arrival of car manufacturers in Slovakia from the standpoint of economic theory and in political and economic context. Practical part analyses the position of automotive industry in Slovak economy. Furthermore, it analyses production, financial development, impact on the labour market and legitimacy of investment incentives in selected car manufacturers. The practical part ends with predictions and recommendations for improvement of the current state of the automotive industry in Slovakia.

The dissertation is devoted to the topic of "public support". In practice, however, it is possible to notice expressions like "state support" or "state aid", which are equivalents for the Czech term "public support". I explore the given concept in the international law, European and Czech legislations. Subsequently, I compare it with the laws of Poland and the Slovak Republic. The crucial part of the doctoral thesis focuses on investment aids aimed at the tool of discounts on income taxes, which is evaluated both from the perspective of legal theory and practice. Finally, I scrutinize the case law of the European and Czech courts, which represent the basis, and there is also a comparison with the historical development of the evaluation criteria for compatibility of state aids. Thesis on the topic: The procedures of public administration in the area of state aid Author: Martina Koutná The main aim of this thesis on the topic "The procedures of public administration in the area of state aid" is to analyze the issue of investment incentives in the Czech Republic from the perspective of the state aid rules and the reasons for this regulation. The main attention is paid to the system of investment incentives based on Act on Investment Incentives in the context of the general problems of state aid. The work focuses on the application of the Administrative Code on the investment incentives and analyzes the process of public administration in providing subsidies on the basis of budget rules. The aim is to analyze the diametrically different approaches and to point out key differences. In particular, that the Administrative Code is applicable to the process of providing investment incentives and the process is subject to judicial review. While in the case of subsidies, on the basis of budget rules, neither administrative procedure nor judicial review is possible.
